Hydro jetters here come from drain cleaning contractors, plumbers and municipal crews upgrading to bigger units. You will see trailer jetters, truck-mounted jetters, skids and cart units, usually with hose, reel and a nozzle set included, plus industrial water jetting equipment used for surface prep and plant cleaning. Every listing is local pickup: you inspect it, run it and pay at the seller's yard.

What to look for in used hydro jetting equipment

  • GPM and PSI: 4 to 8 GPM at 3,000 to 4,000 PSI handles residential laterals; 18 GPM and up is for mains.
  • Engine and pump hours, and whether the pump (General, Udor, Giant) has been rebuilt.
  • Hose condition and length, reel operation, and how many nozzles come with it.
  • Tank size, antifreeze system for winter work, and any leaks under the pump.
  • On trailer units: tires, lights, title in hand and a hitch that matches your truck.

Questions buyers ask

What size jetter do I need?
Match GPM to pipe size. Around 4 GPM clears kitchen and lateral lines, 8 to 12 GPM handles 4 to 6 inch, and 18 GPM or more is for mains and heavy grease. PSI matters less than flow for moving debris.
Trailer jetter or truck-mounted?
Trailers are cheaper, hold value and can be moved between trucks. Truck-mounted units set up faster and are tidier for daily use but sell with the chassis. Most one-truck shops start with a trailer.
How do I check a used jetter before paying?
Run it. Watch pressure hold at the gauge, listen to the pump for knocking, check for water in the oil, and pull hose off the reel to look for kinks and abrasion.
Do I need a CDL to tow a trailer jetter?
Usually not. Most trailer jetters sit well under the 26,001 lb combined weight that triggers a CDL, but check the trailer's GVWR against your truck and your state's rules.
Is a sewer jetter the same as industrial water jetting equipment?
No. A sewer jetter runs high flow at a few thousand PSI to clear pipe. Industrial water jetters, also called hydroblasters, run lower flow at 10,000 PSI and up to strip coatings and clean tanks and heat exchangers. Check the PSI and GPM on the plate against your work.
